Embark on a 4-day adventure from Cusco to the cultural zone of Manu, where the world's greatest biodiversity awaits.   • Day 1 - Journey over the Andes, visit Ninamarca tombs and Paucartambo village, and hike to see the cock-of-the-rock in the cloud forest.
  • Day 2 - Travel to tropical lowland rainforest, explore higher trails, and enjoy night walks to spot nocturnal wildlife.
  • Day 3 - Visit a clay lick for parrots, explore the jungle for medicinal plants, and raft on a lake.
  • Day 4 - Return journey through the cloud forest and Andes back to Cusco.

1 CUSCO – CLOUD FOREST- PILCOPATA LODGE

Leaving Cusco early in the morning, we begin an 10-hour journey over the Andes by bus, stopping in Ninamarca pre-Inca tombs. After an explanation we continuing to beautiful colonial village of Paucartambo where our guide will give us all the information about this place. Continuing, we climb to Acjanaco the bigining point and the highpoint of the Manu Biosphere at about 4000 m before descending to the cloud forest. In these mysterious surroundings which has a huge variety of flora and fauna, making it an ideal home for epiphytic, orchids and bromeliads. By the afternoon we take a hike to the lek of the incredible cock-of-the-rock, to see the 'performance' of the males right under our eyes. Also by the way we can see trogons, quetzal, toucans, monkeys and on a lucky day the only Spectacle Bear of South America We spend our first night in the rustic lodge.

2 Pilcopata Lodge to Soga de Oro Lodge: A Jungle Adventure

In the morning, embark on a journey by bus to the lush tropical lowland rainforest. Arrive at the charming village of Atalaya, situated at 600 meters above sea level. Here, we transition to a motorized canoe to navigate the thrilling waters of the Alto Madre de Dios River. For the next two nights, enjoy the comfort of the same lodge nestled in nature's embrace.

In the afternoon, set out on your first hike to the Mountain Range. From there, explore the Higher Trails, offering breathtaking viewpoints. Along the way, encounter fascinating wildlife such as big monkeys and a diverse array of birds and plants from both the lowland and rainforest zones, including some endemic species.

As night falls, delve into the forest by torchlight, seeking out insects, snakes, spiders, frogs, and the elusive night-monkey, known as the 'douricouli'. Conclude your adventurous day by relaxing in the cozy confines of our lodge.

3 SODA DE ORO LODGE – CLAY LICK FOR PARROTS – MACHUWASI LAKE

Early in the morning the boat takes you to a nearby clay lick for parrots and the rare blue-headed macaw. Their spectacle is both impressive to see and to hear! In this place we are going to have our breakfast with a spectacular view of the lick. After we will continue to explore into the jungle to find some medicinal plants and some other animals activities. Then we returned our lodge for our lunch. In the Afternoon we are going to visit of one of the very view lakes on the Alto Madre de Dios River, where we can go around on small traditional rafts. At night we make some short walk. Overnight in lodge.

4 Journey from Soga de Oro Lodge to Cusco via Atalaya and the Cloud Forest

Enjoy your final morning and breakfast in the jungle before embarking on a scenic voyage. Our boat will take you up to Atalaya, where we transition to a car journey through the enchanting cloud forest and the majestic Andes.
