Breakfast: We wake up at 5:30 am to have a coffee or hot infusion before heading to Lake Sandoval. The guide will provide you with a bag containing breakfast to be consumed during the excursion to Lake Sandoval. Lake Sandoval: 06:00 am. After navigating for about 20 minutes on the Madre de Dios River, we arrive at the Lake Sandoval dock. With a 3 km trek through the lush vegetation of the tropical forest, we enter the Tambopata National Reserve territory. You will admire gigantic trees, snakes, monkeys (wasitas, cotomonos or capuchins), birds (notably the shanshos, kingfishers, and anhingas). Once at Lake Sandoval, we will navigate in small rowing boats in search of river otters. We can also observe a wide variety of animals such as reptiles, mammals, and birds in their natural state. When the guide finds an appropriate spot and while we observe nature in its full expression, we can consume our breakfast. On the return, we will ensure we have all our belongings and begin the walk back to the Lake Sandoval dock.

Lunch: 1:30 pm. We will return to the lodge for lunch.

Visit to the tower and chestnut camp: 3:30 pm. We will visit one of the two towers that Corto Maltes Amazonia has in its facilities. One is 20 meters high and the other is 42 meters high. Both are designed for bird watching and other species from the heights, and you can also enjoy a beautiful sunset (the guide will coordinate which one to visit depending on the passengers preference). Visit to a chestnut camp. The chestnut (or Brazil nut, as it is known worldwide) is another of the most important economic activities in the Madre de Dios region. Free time: Free time to enjoy the pool or a massage, have a refreshing drink at our bar, or visit our boutique.

Dinner: 8:00 pm: Dinner

3 Corto Maltes Lodge

Breakfast: 08:00h Breakfast

Farm: 09:00h After about 20 minutes of navigating the river, we will visit a farm. It is a piece of land cared for by a local family. Here, we will recognize and even be able to taste different seasonal tropical fruits and other native products (cocoa, banana, cocona, breadfruit, noni, yucca, lime…). This place belongs to a typical rural family of this area, who maintain with great care and without chemical products some native plants that grow naturally and are then taken to the main market of Puerto Maldonado for consumption. Once the visit is over, we will return to take the boat and after about 20 minutes we will arrive at the land of the native Machiguenga family. Native Machiguenga Family: 12:00h We will visit a family of natives of the Machiguenga ethnicity, one of the many ethnicities that exist in the Peruvian Amazon, who will show us part of the cultural value of their ancestors, their language and customs, their clothing, their hunting skills, their crafts, and the music they play during the ayahuasca ceremony. They will show us how they use natural products to make tools, their

dwellings, clothing, and ornaments, all of which are important for their daily life.

Lunch: 13:00h: Without leaving the land of the Machiguenga ethnic family, in a typical construction, we will have lunch with a native dish from the jungle.

Free time: 14:00 Return to the lodge to rest and have free time to visit the

boutique, refresh in the pool, have a cocktail at the bar, or get a relaxing massage.

Dinner: 20:00h: Dinner

Breakfast: 08:00h. Breakfast and free time

Visit to the Taricaya Center: 8:30h. Boat trip (45 minutes) to the Biological Animal Rescue Center. This project, based mainly in the United Kingdom, has the collaboration of universities from all over the world, where volunteer students come to collaborate in the care and reintroduction of injured or rescued animals to in many cases be reinserted into their natural environment. Here we can observe different species of animals: jaguar, varieties of monkeys, tapir, peccary, and some exotic birds like the trumpeter. These animals are cared for in order to heal them and return them to their natural environment, although there are some animals that can no longer be reintroduced into their natural habitat for various reasons. The project features a

Canopy Walk (a hanging bridge that rises to 42 m in height and 90 m in length, for the

monitoring of birds and observation of fauna and flora). The walk along an open trail will last approximately 30 minutes in the primary forest to the Canopy Walk. After climbing the first 14m tower, we walk over the hanging bridge (Canopy Walk), ascending to a platform 42 m high from where you can enjoy an extraordinary view at the level of the tallest trees in the jungle.

Lunch and free time: Around 13:30 Return to the Lodge for lunch and free afternoon to

enjoy the lodges recreational activities in coordination with your guide.
